LuLU for LULU Lemon

TD Bank just launched this New  Health Activities bonus for each of their Employees. So Matt got $700 to spend on ANYTHING pertaining to Athletics and staying Healthy. Of course when he informed me about this I wanted a piece of the pie too.

For years now (ever since Iv know Matt) he always talked about wanting Brand New Hockey Equipment. Growing up with 8 children, Matt and his brother were only allowed to get one new piece of equipment each year and the rest second hand. They played hockey for years. Matt now plays with a team (mostly people from Church) every weds and Saturday(floor hockey), but will be starting ice hockey with some of his buddies in the Spring.

Naturally I supported him in his deep desire for him to get New equipment. He on his own said I want to give you some of the money so you can get something at LuLu Lemon. He said only a hundred though. I thought surely I deserve a bigger piece of this banana Cream Pie than that (wink wink)- so I raised the streaks to $300 and we settle for $250.

Now here is where it gets good and pretty funny.  After I purchased my two favorite items at LuLu, he then told me that he started low because he knew me and that I would for sure try to bargain with him. He said he knew he was going to give me that amount in the end but didn't want to say it because I would then try to go higher in the price. I laughed so hard and was impressed with his hidden skill to trick me. I was also shocked at how well he knows me haha. I told him he's good but NOT to do that again lol.

So we are both happy. He got his new equipment and I a new low rise (for the belly of course) yoga pants and a Zip up reversible sweater/jacket. I was really into Hot Yoga before I got pregnant but had to stop. Still looking for a prenatal yoga group in London. If any of you ladies know of one- send the name my way :)

What can I say, I go LuLu for LuLu Lemon- seriously I only get an item from there at Christmas if Im Lucky :)

Matt is on Cloud 9

Matt is the happiest guy I know right now. He like me was expecting a girl (mostly because I told we were having a girl) so he road off the possibilities of having a boy. When we were in the ultrasound room for the first bit I couldn't see the screen so I got to watch Matts facial expression as my entertainment. He had the biggest grin on his face the whole time. He kept guessing what parts the tech was on at that moment and he got everyone right. The tech told him he was hired- again possibly flirting with my Husband lol. All Matt could talk about on the way home from the Hospital was that it was a boy and how happy he was. He then went off on all the things he will do with his new son and teach him. It was very cute.

Matt is also very Happy because now he knows I wont go nuts shopping for baby girls stuff. Yes I had everything planned out to the head accessories down to cute little leggings. Not to mention beautiful little dresses I was just waiting to buy. Matt is so relieved and teased me as to what am I going to buy now. To be honest i'v seen some pretty cute boys outfits but its still not the same. So I said nothing-I will buy nothing. again he was on cloud nine :)

So last night we grabbed some of Matts old baby books and started inspecting them so see what our little guy will look like, and Boy Matt was a cutie. Here are some of Matts baby pictures

Matt Baby blessing with his Mum who looks beautiful and Youthful
a little chubby bunny sitting on his Great grandmother on the Cochrane's side
This pic is MY favorite pic. Matt's  mum told us this is all Matty would do as a baby. They would renovate(tare wallpaper, sanded, paint etc and Matt would just sleep in his wooden highchair.
He looks so cute with is little bike
Matt thought I should post a pic of me so I dont feel left out- even though I know this baby will look just like Matt.

ITS A BOY

Wow what a whirlwind this pregnancy has been. Let me start by telling you how I found out I was having a baby boy two weeks earlier than scheduled. Last night Matt and I were laying in bed talking when all of a sudden I starting cramping severe. Now for those of you who know, pukey has been my middle name since I've been pregnant. This week was the FIRST week I didn't vomit  in 4 months. I was pretty proud of myself and went out with girlfriends every night of the week after work to celebrate. So when Saturday came along and I started cramping I thought "oh no" what now? I brushed it off and tried to go to sleep. I got a total of 2.5 hrs of sleep when 7am came around. I got up in so much pain that I vomited really bad. At that time Matt thought we  better go to emerg and see whats going on. Long story short we were there getting blood work, urine samples and two ultrasounds.

Let me stop here and say a few things about our Ultra-sound tech.....AMAZING! When I first saw him he had a grumpy face on (like everyone in the hospital- or at least in triage). I actually said to Matt that there was no way he would let Matt in the room and for sure wouldn't tell us the sex. BOY (hehe) was I wrong. Another reminder to me that you can never judge a book by its cover. Not only did he let Matt in the room (but said dont tell anyone) he spent a full HOUR showing us every single part of the baby(after he check the baby for any serious issues of course).  He did close ups of his ears, eyes, lips, nose, each finger to ensure us that he had 5 finger and toes :) then came to the sex. now of course he cant say anything and teased me about wanting to know desperately. He got a clear shot where Matt could easily see But I was blind to it. I think because I was SO SURE that it was a girl. He then said "I will be right back". He came back with a 3D machine and said again- don't tell anyone at the hospital that I did this. Mostly because it cost ppl anywhere from $100-200 to get 3D ultrasounds. YUP there is was, his little knees and right in between his little jewels.
Now this is whats funny. When Matt and I first saw it we thought the one Knee was his package and we both went  "HOLY COW" yup there it is. Now we think that guy was flaming a little for other reasons and he said  "wow if you guys think that's it, I could only imagine what your husbands is like". We all laughed so hard. Then he kindly corrected us and said that was his knee:)

All in all a horrible day turned into one of the happiest days of my life. The baby his healthy, active, loves tugging on his ear with one hand and sucking his thumb with the other. He did that the whole time. we love him already. All Matt is talking about now is taking him to hockey practices and games.ahhh Men. I will work  and enjoy teaching him how to be a gentlemen and treat women as daughters of our Heavenly father. To be a hard worker, strive for a higher education and be true and honest in all his doings. Cant wait.

16 Weeks

I know I know I should have a ton of pics up of my jelly belly by now but our camera broke a month ago so we are behind. Promise I will post from pics of my growing tummy soon.

Well for sure cant fit into any of my pants except my yoga and black tights (which within an hours hurts my stomach because its so tight) My sleeps are uncomfortable for the most part and I still get up three times a night for a good pee and some food. Sickness has subsided (knock on wood) and I'm down to taking my declectin once a day.  I haven't Purchased ANYTHING thus far for the baby or myself. I told Matt that I think its time I get a Bella Band and a body pillow. The truth is I don't even know where to go or where to start. plus the times im not working, cooking for our students or cleaning the house or even vomiting (yes unfortunately that has taken up a good chunk of my day) All i want to do is sleep or lay in bed and stare at the ceiling imagining what life will be like once I have my little Nut.

13 Weeks pregnant

Like I stated in my last post..oh back in jan 20- I am horrible at writing in a journal/blog. Yes it is now March 8th- shame on me. In all fairness I will blame it on my lack of motivation due to Good old MORNING SICKNESS. Yeppers friends, I have been SICK. I consider myself one of the lucky ones and hope this means an easy delivery...right? Ha.

Do I love being Pregnant you ask? Hmmm, I sure love the little nut that's inside me. The last 3 months of been a challenge to say the least. I have had plenty of days where I;v vomited 4 to 10 times a day- that was fun :) Other days where I go to the back opertory at work and shut the lights off and lay in the dental chair- heavenly is all i can say. Good thing I have an amazing boss and can get away with sleeping on the job. Sure my new nickname is Puckey put hey, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

We had out first ultrasound back in my first tri and Im not even going to post it because it really does just look like a blob. It was great to see the heart beat and know that it;s all real..

Matt has been great for the "most part" hehe. In the beginning when I was really sick, he would get up at 1am, 3am and 5am to make me peanut butter toast, or oatmeal, or raison toast, or orange sherbet ice cream, or pickles mmmmm. Also my glass of water beside my bed needed refilling every two hours or so. Ok Ok before you all start to judge and think- "high maintenance much" I was deathly ill- could barely get out of bed. Until the first night approached where I asked matt for something and he said "im too tired" get up and get it yourself". I was devastated!! Then I actually did and the was the end of matty being at my beg and call :) ahhh it was great while it lasted.

Bought our Second House

Matt and I just bought our second house!! We absolutely love it! We are keeping our current home and have already rented it out to a cute little family. We are so excited to Move next month. Just outside the Subdivision is a brand New YMCA-attached a library. Wow cant wait to sign up with the little Nut to have swimming lessons and such. Matt will probably spend lots of time in the library reading about stuff :)
Our new home is spacious and beautiful. Anyone who knows me I said I would NEVER live in a cookie cutter new subdivision. I love trees and big backyards too much. Well I caved! It really is a great area and Matt's buddy lives just a street down, so they are planning BBQ parties and basement finished projects already :) We will be leaving wards (sigh). All of Matt's family are in 3rd Ward and that has been our family ward since we got married. We will be in 1st Ward now and have heard great things about it. We are excited for all the changes coming up. Change is Good.
